IAQA and ACCA What a Combination – by Doug Long

January 1, 2009

As a long time member of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) and an even longer member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), I cannot think of a better match for a combined annual meeting.  Even better, it is right here in our back yard (Forth Worth).

This three day conference delivered by a world renown collection of scientists, engineers, IAQ professionals and remediation experts is a one of a kind event.  The problem is going to be selecting which technical sessions and workshops to attend and finding time to visit every booth at the world’s largest exposition of IAQ and HVAC products ever assembled under one roof at the Indoor Air Expo.  What an opportunity to get together with thousands of contractors, professionals, doctors, professors, scientists, IAQ practitioners, health and safety experts, and remediation and restoration pros to learn and prepare to take care of our customers.

ACCA’s tag line for their 41st Annual Conference is “Turn It Up”.  For those of us in the Houston and Galveston area, Indoor Air Quality issues have most definitely been “Turned Up” since hurricane Ike and the coming Spring season will “spin the dial” with even more Indoor Air Quality issues.

This is the 12th annual meeting for IAQA and promises to be very best ever produced by IAQA, and the largest Indoor Air Expo in history!

The conference is scheduled for February 24 – 26, 2009 at the Omni Forth Worth & Forth Worth Convention Center.  For more details, visit either:

Power Vac America is sending Katie Long, Paul and myself to take advantage of this learning experience and gain as much knowledge as possible at one event.  I am looking forward to this conference and the opportunity to visit and network with our local contractors and customers as well as contractors and vendors across the country.

Hope to see you their!
